I am so pissed off right now.

So Dell has tried to fix my laptop three times, and it's a vegetable. Finito. Gone. I'm going to pull out the hard drive and try to siphon off my irreplaceable files (like the last ten pages of Piano Man I wrote GAAAAH), but beyond that, I'm without a laptop at the moment. Dell wants me to send it in, but I've been told twice by People Who Would Know that (a) this will result in data loss and (b) won't do anything anyway. At this point the poor thing is like the old broom that's had three new heads and four new handles.

So yeah, this is bullshit. I need the computer for work, not just lawyersecks.

I'm going to be back in Arizona by Sunday at the latest.

If your laptop is really shot to hell as you say, just taking it apart and retrieving the hard drive information onto a respectable desktop shouldn't be that difficult. But yeah, I hate it when things break. :(

Good luck getting a new one or getting it fixed, and getting all the relevant data off of it. That reminds me, it's time for my monthly backup!

Lawyersecks? I thought they used yellow legal notepads?

I've heard a) and b) as well from other people that have Dell laptops. My friend Alli had problems with hers and Dell didn't tell her that they were going to wipe her computer (they said it wasn't necessary).

Anyways, that sucks. Good luck. You'll have to spend money, but at least you'll have a laptop and screen that work (if you can keep Ziggy away...)
