"Here's some money. Go see a Star War."
I feel a lot better. I no longer feel like I am being stabbed in the ear with a chopstick every time I swallow. So that's good. Lymph node still feels swollen and sore. Yes, I did mean to leave that singular.
I finally made some progress on my Naoto costume this afternoon (winter school uniform version). I had found the jacket years ago at Goodwill and had guessed--correctly--that someday it would become useful, as it closely resembles a Japanese schoolboy's jacket. I blocked out the stitching with a white colored pencil. This took a lot longer than I had anticipated (something like twelve episodes of Arrested Development), given that I was just doing rough proportions based on character designs and drawing dashes along a tape measure. Still need to transpose the Yasogami High logo with transfer paper or something.

Thisvoyeur cat. Has been on top of everything I have been doing. All. Day.

With reference picture I was using.

Disregard the stitches in the waist belt; they aren't supposed to be there. My attention was being tried.

Fuck yeah 80's shoulder pads. It's too *rounding*. Naoto's uniform sits on her form in a way that seems much more angular and flat. I still need to add a fifth button toward the bottom, and she does not wear the top button done, so that may help the overall shape. I can also cut slits into the side if need be to take the strain off my hips.
After embroidering I still need to buy the houndstooth fabric to fabricate the collar, make the metal logo/year number if Hobby Link Japan doesn't get its stuff off backorder, and make the hat. Embroidering stitches on the pants will be easy; it looks like there are only stitches along the leg seams. I just need to find pants I am willing to deface that are not faded jeans with acid-wear holes and bleach blots.
Saw
xcerebraledemax,
keichisfuuma,
white_manjushri, and
aquabot1 last night. I still feel violated. Like the kind of violated where you're never going to be clean again. Ever.
I'm going back to the lab tomorrow, finally. I looked over my DNA sequences briefly and they're more-or-less unusuable. The second trace half-consists of unknown nucleotides. So that's helpful. I hope I can get something out of the PCR product, because I really do not want to have to purify and clone my bands if I can get away with it.
The behemoth desktop in my room is still busted. It's just a different kind of busted now. My patience hit its limit for at least the next few days.
