I think this movie was made about Seishirou.

As pointed out to me by [livejournal.com profile] xcerebraledemax, YOU NEVER KNOW WHEN THE HOMOSEXUAL IS ABOUT.

Also, all the boys are all-American youths who have paper routes and play baseball and basketball after school. Fucking yeah.

Oh, Happy genocide-of-the-Native Americans-that-prompted-a-feast-that-is-now-called-Thanksgiving day. All that shit about Native Americans and Pilgrims getting together out of mutual love and friendship? Never happened. The first "thanksgiving" in Massachusetts Bay Colony was to celebrate the return of Pilgrims who had gone to massacre 700 Native Americans close-by. It's a blood-soaked holiday. Always has been, always will be. Somehow I kept my mouth shut during dinner. I was too busy being a bitch about Gone With The Wind, which is a good movie, but Christ, Rhett Butler is a rapist, everybody is racist, and all the black folk are just gosh-darn tickled to be servin' the white folk.

Anyway, when you sit down for your turkey (which is good, I will admit) and think about all you have to be thankful for (and thanksgiving feasts, harvest feasts, feasts of bounty, are by no means new or patently American, and I fully support thanksgiving feasts in principle), remember those whose suffering the holiday tries to make invisible or dress up with cute little kids' pageants.

You had me at the topic. And then I clicked on the video. My god... that man cannot be compared to Seishirou. I mean the guy in the video is kinda fat and balding. Seishirou is... wow, 45 by now (Now I want fanart of Seishirou in his 40's!! I think he'll be like his mom, staying young :3)

I love how they confused homosexuals with kidnappers back then. That fear still persists today. Apparently, most cases of pedophilic predators are associated with molesting little underaged boys, too. The accusations/charges just... changed the name. |||-_-

I saw Conan O'Brian last night, and their skit on the origin of Thanksgiving. I sure hope kids don't start thinking that THAT was the origin of Thanksgiving. Otherwise, one day when teachers ask, "Who can tell me the origin of Thanksgiving?" A kid will answer, "Oh! Oh! It's the day when Americans and Indians and Frankenstein share food together!"

Well, elementary school is taking care of the misinformation about pilgrims and Indians being big happy family. I still remembered what they said about Columbus. Regardless of the blood, though, the people who got killed to make this day happen, I think if we think about them from time to time, their deaths won't be too much in vain.

PS: I never liked GWTW. In general, I can't sit through a lot of old movies. Unless maybe if Charlton Heston is in it. (Soylent Green is PEOPLE!!!)

I'm not for the general misrepresentation of history and schools lying to children. But on the bright side our culture has managed to turn a holiday about genocide and murder into one of tollerance and sharing.

HEY! I sent you that video not Annie! I have been watching 50's educational videos non stop recently. They are ALL GREAT... for a laugh! HEY OH! And yea, NPR did a huge special last year about the 'real' thanksgiving and they said there were more people killed then in the civil war! Yikes.

when that movie was made we were still segregated....so much so no one even thought of it changing. And women had less rights than that....so yeah sucks. But ain't it great to remind poeple how horrible we used to be and how we really havn't changed that much?
