I have a bad cough, a high fever, congestion that you wouldn't believe, and I've been vomiting up all the mucous that is draining into my stomach from my sinuses. If I try to sleep sitting up, I get horribly nauseated from all the mucous in my stomach. If I sleep lying down, I can't breathe. So I can't sleep. My parents went ahead and gave me a Z-pack because there is an at least 110% chance I'll get a secondary bacterial infection anyway. Pseudoephedrine keeps me awake, NyQuil makes me sleepy, so I'm somewhere in-between.

Didn't go to school/lab today. Probably won't tomorrow unless I make a most dramatic turn-around. AND the lab went out to lunch for a birthday today, so of course today is one of the days I'm home sick. FML.

Remember Cougar Con? Remember that secret Cougar Message Board that was theorized? I think [livejournal.com profile] omegadonut found it. For the sake of context, Smogon is a message board for competitive Pokemon players. I think that's all that need be said.

I should lie down before I pass out.

EEEK

I'm guessing Arizona is also heating up now. Would that make the situation better or worse? (I do worse at hot weathers...)

FEEEEELLL BETTER!!!

Please, for the love of god, DO NOT go to lab tomorrow if you're anywhere close to the state you're in now.

Contaminating your lab colleagues does not make for a happy lab environment. I know you're a student and all with a work ethic but QUARANTINE yourself! :D

And hey, sick days are supposed to be fun days? Right? Right? Right?

I hope you get some sleep eventually, babe! *hugs* Get well soon.

That sounds gross and horrible, so I hope you feel better soon. However, I agree with that other chick or dude! Keep your germs AT HOME. Or in the dorm. Or whatever, just don't spread them all around your place of work/learning.
So, yeah, all the conventional wisdom: stay in bed or on the couch, keep warm, drink lots of juice or water, try not to despair.

Man. If I had whatever you had, I'd just have to get shitfaced drunk on whiskey and nyquil, and sleep for about three days. Yeah, you'll have a hangover, but you'll be able to breath again!

But no, really. Yikes! Please get better soon.

Recover, please! I don't mean that in the general sense of "don't die," but in the very specific sense of putting a priority on recovering and resting over labwork. I don't think you'd hold it against one of your labmates if they stayed out for illness, so you have no reason to feel guilty yourself. I know what it's like to apply that standard to yourself: "-I- should be working now." But take it easy on yourself; push too hard and neglect your health, and things go badly. I can testify to that.

I hope you didn't go in today, and suggest that, unless you're down to the slightest sniffle, you don't go in tomorrow either. At your age, of course, I would have disregarded this advice, but I would have been foolish to do so.

And Vicky will be pissed if you work yourself into an invalid before that acceptance letter comes.
