Send aid to n00b.

So I am having an absolute hell of a time with this layout:

Right now it really looks like hell, but I've made progress, believe it or not. Familiar though I am with HTML, this is my first time working with livejournal overrides, so I wonder if there is something important I am missing. Does anybody have any suggestions? I am sure you get the general idea of what I am trying to do--entries in the right side of the red space, sidebar to the left in the red space, clean and simple. Haven't added the image maps to the links at the top yet, and if you scroll down far enough, you see an entirely new LJ-within-an-LJ containing the current post, while the red text above it starts from the second-to-last post. Beneath the lower box are the links for the comments of all of the posts above. I will fix the CSS for text color after I get the tables organized.

Since I don't have the sidebar up as of yet, credit goes to the amazing Yukari Toshimichi of Solid & Etc for the amazing fanart of Alucard (used with permission) from Hellsing. The lyrics are from David Bowie's "Life on Mars?" (yeah, it makes sense in my head, can explain if one wishes).
