Skewed off into an alternate tangent
Jun. 11th, 2007 02:12 amTomorrow I start on the new project with a new boss. I can't say what I'm moving from to what, but I hope this will prove as interesting as my last project. (If you know me well, I'm sure you know what it was.) I was passionate about it, and it was so specialized and groundbreaking and all that jazz. The training I more-or-less just completed is invaluable in securing graduate school moneyz and acceptances; at least that is already under my belt, though I would have liked to be involved in the actual research aspect. But alas, such is life. The new project is more generalized and inclusive. This new lab seems bigger, which I hope will not impact my autonomy negatively. I liked the informal, live-and-let-live attitude in the old lab. And I hope I can still get away with listening to my iPod. Cell culture and general cleanup is more enjoyable to Marilyn Manson performing covers that are better than his original work.
I booked my flight to LA for Expo. I'll be heading out a few days early to hang with Vicky and Hillel. There will be much sexy partying.
I'm running out of hard drive space. I need to stop downloading so many shows. I need to watch those I HAVE downloaded, too. I'm getting through Ouran High School Host Club, and I'm current with NANA. I started Code Geass a while ago, but I need to get back on it.
It's bad when I can quote a Family Guy episode I have not yet seen purely because it references Back to the Future so heavily, and I have seen the latter more times than I care to remember. Entirely willingly.
