Aug. 9th, 2009 05:56 pmThis research proposal can kiss. My. Ass. School isn't supposed to start until the 24th. What is this. At least I'm almost 3/4 done, and then I get to have it dissected by my mentor. I have to turn it in before I go to San Diego.
I've had one experiment work this entire goddamn week. It's not what you'd think.
I took my GRE on Saturday, and, uh, I'm a fucking retard for not reading the directions on the verbal, because my score would have been about 100 points higher. For interested parties my scores were 640 verbal, 720 math, have not received my essay score, considering taking it again so my verbal will be much higher. For having not studied anything at all ever this isn't so bad, I guess, but fuck I could have gotten in the 99th percentile in verbal with minimal effort IF I HAD READ THE FUCKING DIRECTIONS RIGHT FUCK. Sent my scores to UCSD, UCLA, UC Berkeley, and University of Washington, Seattle. Input welcome. Should I retake the test with these scores, wait for essay scores, or what?
Also need to decide if I want to do JET or find some other way to go to Japan for a bit before grad school. I wish there were some six-month teaching positions; a year is quite a commitment.
Against my better judgment (which isn't much better, really) I've started watching Samurai Sentai Shinkenger. I haven't followed a Super Sentai show since, oh, Power Rangers when I was in first grade. I'm enjoying it far more than anybody over the age of 8 has any right to. Bad dialogue, bad acting, bad special effects, and half the show is the Shinkenger using random items clearly designed just so the producers can sell more plastic crap to kids. This, and I'm behind on Fullmetal Alchemist and Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu for this season. I still want to be a magical Chosen One superhero warrior of justice so fucking bad it's obscene. This has not abated since I was five years old.
