2) Are you happy with where you are now?
All things considered, yes.

3) When you meet the person, do you fall fast?
No. I've crushed hard on charismatic, attractive people I have met briefly in the past, but I was aware those impressions were superficial, and I did not reveal my sentiments at the time. But when it comes to relationships, romantic attachments, that last and have substance, I take a while to bloom and explore.

4) Have you ever had your heart broken?
This is seriously a question?

5) Do you believe that there are certain circumstances where cheating is okay?
I agree with Adrienne; certain (few, specific, and dire) circumstances may be forgivable, but it's never 'okay'. I hold grudges forever, though, and I never forget, forgiving though I may be. It would be difficult for me to forget and piece the relationship back together again without forever doubting somebody's fidelity and how they really felt about me.

6) Would you ever take someone back if they cheated on you?
Again, that is dependent on the situation and the person's genuine regret. I promised myself I would never settle for something shoddy that would engender repeat offences.

7) Have you talked about marriage with another person?
As opposed to marriage with myself? Well, yeah, in multiple contexts over the past almost-19 years, intellectual, advisory, and interpersonal.

8) Do you want children?
I admittedly have an interest in having children after my career is well-established and I've traveled the world and done all the things I want to do, but that's quite far in the future. I'm afraid of being tied down, of course, but to gain something, something of equal value must be sacrificed, right?

9) How many?
Uh, one or two, if I do have them.

10) Would you consider adoption?
Depends on the circumstances. Does it make me shallow if I'm pleased with the idea of creating a half-clone of myself?

11) If somebody liked you right now, would you want them to tell you?
It would depend on the situation. I know well how much it helps somebody to get those sentiments off his or her chest, but I do not like to hurt people.

12) Do you enjoy playing hard to get?
Admittedly, I sometimes use a slight hard-to-get scheme at first to see how serious somebody is, but I don't take it very far, and once I know something is right, I move forward with it.

13) Be honest, do you play the "game" when you are dating?
Never intentionally, but sometimes people get their signals crossed.

14) Do you believe love at first sight exists?
Well, some people have said it exists for them, so sure, it exists. I can feel drawn to somebody from the first meeting--maybe it's subconscious--but I wouldn't call it full-blown love, at least on the conscious level.

15) Do you believe in celebrating anniversaries?
It's always nice to have an excuse to party.

16) Do you believe that you can change someone?
On a direct level, not if the person in question does not want to change. But we are the sum of our experiences, so merely by being a part of a person's life, you effect their life story in ways, both subtle and overt, that may change them to varying degrees.

You mean romantic feelings, I assume. Yes.

19) Have you ever wished you could have someone?
You really missed half of my high school career, didn't you.

Yes, more times than I care to remember. One time is too many, but in all circumstances, it was unavoidable.

21) Would you ever fight somebody over your significant other?
Well, yeah, if things got that down-and-desperate.

22) What would you say about your last crush?
Serious, flighty, or epic? Well, for the middle option, I would say "Da~a~vid."


Apparently there's a football game this evening. Good. The dorms will be empty and quiet. I can finish a lot of my work. I'm making a point to do as little as possible this weekend.

And apparently my laptop has finally arrived. This pleases me greatly. I'll be picking that up this weekend when I go home. Hopefully I can find the stuff I need to move my files over with minimum hassle.

Oh, Manzanita Hall’s cafeteria > Memorial Union’s cafeteria in terms of selection, hands down, but Manzanita doesn't have the good Asian food I've been living off of.

Upon closer analysis of my X tarot cards, the Major Arcana pictures match their respective meanings quite nicely, but half of the Minor Arcana pictures even I have to stretch to make fit the meanings, especially when it's something like a lively, happy Yuzuriha on a card predicting dire unhappiness and emotional upheaval. I can stretch it, but it's still quite a stretch. I swear half of the pictures were just smacked on without regard to the cards' meanings. And the Suite of Swords--it's cool that all of the pictures have swords in them, but some of the pictures just don't correspond with the meanings. I know CLAMP only drew specifically tarot pictures for the Major Arcana, but hell, I could have done a better job selecting random pictures for the Minor Arcana. I like how Subaru and Seishirou are featured on a lot of the most lonely, desperate cards--a few even fit quite perfectly--but it's still not a complete job. There are two Court Card instances (I don't remember which cards specifically, and I don't have my deck with me) where Nataku was featured and Seishirou would have fit the description more perfectly; it makes me meditate on the similarities between the characters. Generally the common bonds I spotted through the tarot descriptions were transience of outward identity, lack of introspection, and ruthlessness.

And, yes, I know many the decks only have whatever-number of whatever-suite on whatever pip card, without the symbolism of the Rider-Waite deck or the Crowley Thoth deck, but I still like to meditate on improvements for the X deck. X has such a highly symbolic cast and story; it's sure as hell possible to put that to use in making a deck.
