Sweeney, raise your blade high

What the fuck, Phoenix. The temperature hit both the 100*F mark AND the 110*F mark for the first time this year within 48 hours. Fuck that shit; I'm a rainy-cold weather dweller.
Need to do by Fanimu: find rimless glasses, non-corrective, attempt to style wig, and, oh yeah: bleach the lab coat. It looks like a citrus grove threw up on it.
I had a sonic screwdriver taken to my teeth today. Seriously, now the oral hygienist uses a sonic-vibrating scaler, and it makes the most heinous high-pitched noise against teeth. No cavities, though. Always a welcome find.
Rachel brought home a fledgling bird she found in the street, and we are all taking turns hand-feeding him infant bird formula. She's named him (despite not being sure of 'his' gender) Todd, so of course, I have taken to calling him "Sweeney Todd". At first, given how little he was eating and how listless he was, I did not want to get attached to him, but after spending two feedings with him and seeing his appetite skyrocket voraciously under my care, I'm quite attached to the little guy. So is my dad. He was hardly pecking at his food at first, so he had a dismal prognosis; this comes as a great relief. As I am not much of a birder I am not sure of his species or age, but his beak looks like a raptor's, so I suspect he is a starling. Too small and puffy to be a proper raptor. Verdict is still out, though. If it is a female, I, of course, would name it "Clarice", but when I suggested that to my dad, he just gave me a blank look.

Date: 2008-05-22 03:21 am (UTC)I grew up in desert places and I'm happy to say that the climate up here is amazing. Actually, I have a co-worker that just moved here from Phoenix to get to some nice weather (and a crazy ex but we'll just blame it on the weather...)
