Currently in my SOLUR seminar. Chick just gave this as her explanation of scientific deduction:

"It's like when a boy touches a cow that has smallpox, and then he gets smallpox, you assume that smallpox is this little thing that, like, passes from one person to the next, right?"

If you know anything about infectious diseases or virology, you see what is so glaringly wrong with this. And why I gave her that flat look from the back of the class.

And then some kid busts out 'religion' and 'faith' as unscientific reasoning systems, as if this is something new or groundbreaking or edgy. LOL. Shut up.

Fuck this seminar, in other words.
