Bringing sexy back

So Dell sent my new laptop. It's sexy. I was expecting a clunker from the refurbish bin as this is a warranty replacement, but since they could find none of the older laptops with my specs, they just sent me a new XPS M1330. With 4GB of RAM. No, rly. This is sexy. My only reservation is that the video card is one of the effected nVidia GForces, but I have been assured the motherboard won't fry this time. We'll see. I'm still obsessively backing up irreplaceable stuff.

Which reminds me: I DID have my re-organized GyakuSai doujin folder on my flash drive, so I'm happy in my pants about that.

My only complaint: Vista, enough said. It's running as fast as my 2GB computer did with 4GB. Way-to-go Microsoft.

I'm back to setting up my system and clearing off all the superfluous junk Dell decided to install on here.

Before you get everything in there, there are ways to get XP onto the new laptop.

what ever you do don't downgrade to xp, I did that and yeah still missing drivers for my laptop a year later. It is almost impossible to do it right.

if you play a lot of games then downgrading can be helpful. But I downgraded my laptop, and am still missing drivrs for my ethernet jack for example. Only the wireless works and that took days to find. I had to look up drivers put them on a flash drive put them on the laptop and cross my fingers. Yeah finding the drivers is really hard if the computer is "made for vista"
