I just found out I'm getting my wisdom teeth pulled on Wednesday.

I am a huge pussy with medical things.

Somebody hold me.

How ironic is this. I was watching House all afternoon.

Holy fuck! They didn't even give you any warning, did they?! o__o Though given how you feel about the topic, maybe there was a reason... but oh gawd.

*clinghugs* Laureeennnn. ;~; I know you know it'll all be okay, but that doesn't make it less scary.

I had mine yanked out back in December 2000, I think. It's not that horrible and the pain killers make you feel very dreamy and comfortable. Totally painless and when you wake up from the whole thing, you won't even know it happened.

Well, you'll have to stuff gauze in your mouth for a day or two, but yes. *SNUG* Everything will be fine ^.~

They're full-bone impacted and will eventually crowd out my mouth, and they're flush with adjacent teeth, so they will cause root decay after a while. It's best to get the procedure done young before any problems show up.

Yeah. I know it will all be okay. I actually have a high threshhold for pain and general soreness, but the idea of the procedure itself is where my phobias get me.

Ah. Intellectually I know all of this--really, when you get right down to it, it's an easy procedure--but I still have that phobia of needles. Makes no sense, since running into the door hurts more than getting an IV, and that doesn't bother me until I bleed because of it.

Thank you. I like snuggles.

I wish I could remember the whole thing a little more to perhaps put you at more comfort ;.; I think they also put something over your mouth to help you drift off, but I can't remember.

*SQUISH* I'll remember that ^.~

O.O that's the first time i've ever heard of such complication with wizdom teeth...hope you have a good, non-sadistic dentist.

I'm sorry. Free coupon for some Tracye lovin? No...wait that's not comforting, I forget these things. Since Batman Begins comes out tomorrow on DVD you should get that and comfort yourself with some Jonathan Crane. =)

Past all that, I don't have any good advice. I too have my irrational fears, particularly of dentists(which I do have some basis for...), and can't say I know of a great way of handling them other than just biting the bullet and facing them. See, that wasn't good advice, it sucks.
