This post contains SCIENCE

As brought to my attention by [livejournal.com profile] joeshadows.

Fuck yeah, science.

Also, though I cannot really speak in detail about it here, I may be on to something big.

I need to get to bed; I have to be up at ass o'clock to go on a "field trip" to the Salt River. Yes, it is also for science, but not my science--observing someone else's science for my undergraduate research program. I know the heat is going to make me grateful that I'm a lab rat and not a field rat.

So you're skeptical because it would undercut your investment?

No, not really, I'm actually skeptical because I've had my doubts toward science things published by non-Pubmed material. (I've seen what they wrote about mammalian evolution on monkeys. Both my prof and I agreed that it was blown out of proportion)
Rather than seeing ppl saying, "Ooh, we have miracle cure!" I wanna see it right down to the materials, procedures, and references.

And... I'll admit, I was feeling intimidated when I realized that there's a possibility that my project could very well be an effort for naught when the answer might actually indeed lies in the BBG. There're other projects going on in the lab, so investment is not an issue. LOL, except for the past 3 months of near-overnight stay in the lab on my part. But, the ppl @ Rochester probably killed themselves over this, too. I forgot that possibility.

Ah well, science shouldn't be a competition. I'm still waiting for Rochester to publish their papers, though. And then... I still can't give 100% unless it's been reconfirmed by further experiments.

I'm sorry, I get cynical like that. *headdesks*
