trenchkamen: (so I can--)

As promised, here are preliminary pictures of Dead!Seishirou, as the costume stands now.

Skin-toned tank top starts as the base. At this state, things actually look kind of cute. Ironically, that would be Robespierre on my top shelf (now we know his name is Nandarou, but this was before CLAMP no Kiseki III), the bastard-son mutant pidgin-pheasant what was supposed to be a hawk. I'm tempted to bloody him up and take him with me. He looks like enough of something that crawled up from hell.

And then, this. The entrance wound on my chest. I sewed the prosthetic part onto the shirt while watching Arrested Development DVDs I have yet to turn in to Blockbuster. This is sans the blood, so it looks kind of flat and ridiculous. This is also a close-up of my rack, such as it is, pressed down and showcased in skimpy clothing. This does not happen often.

The exit wound on my back. In retrospect it should have been circular, but I'm working with what I had. If you reference the death-scene pictures, Subaru's hand is exiting Seishirou's back laterally. Wow I need to get back on the work-out routine.

I am physically incapable of taking a decent picture. Seriously. This is the front of things in the 'clean' stage, without copious splats of blood and wayward sakura everywhere, or makeup, or a wig or shoes. Etc. I am not going to have a trenchcoat ready by Halloween, so I will just say that things got very hot down in hell, and I gave my coat to some passing Hot Topic-obsessed kid who overdosed and died. I have since re-arranged the drape of the sakura vine so that it winds over my left hand, and the opposite tendril just hangs; the balance looks much better that way.

DRUGS. I also love the sexy yellow bruise on my cheek that kind of refuses to go away. More of a close-up of the front workings. I'm twisting, so the shirt and jacket are moving off-center of the wound. I can cover edges up with blood and it won't look so weird.

The back. Mah girly hips. I bet five bucks I'm going to be asked if I'm a J-rocker.

I do not think I will have the half-skull eyepiece ready by tomorrow. I tried it on this evening; it didn't stick worth shit with the spirit gum that came with the prosthetic, and it's far too large for my face. Supposedly I also need liquid latex and some other stuff the back of the box failed to mention. I have to cut almost along the bone-line just so it won't overlap my nose and lips. I will also be doing a fair amount of driving tomorrow evening ([livejournal.com profile] voodoobob is along for the ride too now!), so I do not want to be half-blind anyway. If the piece will actually work out, I will thread a sprig of sakura into the socket to make it look like I've got vines coming out me eyes.

My goal by convention (next planned being AniZona, since even though Yaoi-Con starts tomorrow I'm not there) is to have the vine threaded with pure sakura, none of this green-leaf nonsense Michael's thought up, and to have a trenchcoat fixed up.

I finally burned all of my Utena and Escaflowne music onto my computer, and it is love. So much love. I'm feeling the tug back to my old fandoms, enough that I am starting an elite Utena community. It saddens me to see that fandom is dying, and the current Utena communities on livejournal suck. There are maybe a couple of icon contributions here and there, but Utena has so much more to offer than that. I would like to do the same thing with an Escaflowne community; all of the Esca communities are either dead or entire role-play. Has anybody seen my Escaflowne movie soundtrack, and does anybody know where I can download the entire Utena OST volume 3?

Now I need to actually do my homework, and stuff. And maybe eat some dinner. Hello, night.

Thank you. After this thread started I decided that should be a standard pose for this costume.

You painted those flowers at my house....
