Death, you are my bitch lover.
Sep. 5th, 2006 05:20 pmSo, I'm finally set up in the dorm with the laptop. It's hella nice, though I fear it will prove to be hella distracting by the same token. I've been able to concentrate surprisingly well in the dorm so far. I do wish my goddamn mouse would work, though. I hate using the touchpad.
House, MD season 3 starts this evening. I still need to watch the finale of the second season. Hopefully there won't be spoilers I don't already know if I don't get to watching that in the next three hours.
Had an interesting weekend. I attended an unusual number of parties (the usual number is zero) for Labor Day, both of which were held by
noodle_o_doom or her relatives, given that she is going off to college next week, along with all of the East Coast people. It was a fun time. I got a lot of free food.
The Venture Brothers was excellent this week, again. Hopefully this streak will continue to the end of the season. I dug the (very large, very blatant) Red Dragon reference, among other things. Like the hot Dr. Venture-on-robot soapy action and Dean's sixteen-year-old horny ramblings. Muy caliente.
Oh, and as most people have already posted: rest in peace, Steve Irwin. You were a crazy bastard, and it's bloody ironic that of all things, a stingray got you (even I've petted a stingray), given that you seemed like one of those fictitious-legendary-otherworldly people that Just Can't Die. And best wishes to his family. I can't imagine losing a spouse/father in such a sudden and bizarre manner. Maybe in some part of their minds they had prepared themselves to lose him to a croc, but I'm sure there was no worry when he said he was going to film some stingrays. Irony's a bitch.
I liken it to the shock of losing James Bond to lightning. That wasn't aimed at him by an arch enemy. Just pedestrian, natural lightning.
