So, it's the Year of the Rabbit. My year. This is apparently fortuitous for me and all others born in that year. Universe, take note.
2010 was... uh. I got my bachelor's, didn't get into graduate school.
I am limiting my answers on these memes to fandoms I first got in to in 2010, otherwise we'd be here all day.
First Fandom of 2010:
The only fandoms I *started* following in 2010 were Princess Tutu, Sherlock (BBC), the canon of Mitsukazu Mihara (The Embalmer, DOLL, short stories, etc), William Gibson's Sprawl Trilogy (yes, I know, finally; I read The Bridge Trilogy back in high school), and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, if my prior LJ entries are any indication. Also, Gorillaz, I was goddamn late to that party. It's been a slow year for new fandoms for me. I guess Ace Attorney:Miles Edgeworth is a stone cold pimp Investigations counts, since it came out this year, but I've been a Gyakutard for a while now.
Favorite Main Character of 2010:
Are we still going by new fandoms? Uh, Sherlock Holmes, Mamiya Shinjurou, and Noodle if she counts.
Favorite Villain of 2010:
Murdoc Niccals LOL Is Garak a villain? I guess he's an anti-hero.
Favorite Character of 2010:
Garak, Bashir, Odo
Favorite Het Couple of 2010:
Odo/Kira from Deep Space Nine, Jesus H. Christ I am obsessed.
Favorite Yuri Couple of 2010:
Ahiru/Rue, also Kira/Dax (I'm going to hell)
Favorite Slash Couple of 2010:
Sherlock Holmes/John Watson; one-sided Garak-->Bashir
Favorite RPS Couple of 2010:
I don't do RPS.
Fandom That You Never Expected To Get Into:
None of my fandoms really surprised me.
Fandom You THOUGHT You'd Get Into But Didn't:
Doctor Who, finally
Fandom That Crashed and Burned:
I guess I'm behind on House?
Fandom That Made An Unexpected Comeback:
None of the comebacks were unexpected... I tend to keep fandoms for life. I guess The World Ends With You / すばらしきこのせかい)
Fandom That Inspired The Most Crack:
Sherlock
Last Fandom of 2010:
I have no idea.
--------------------------------------------
Your main fandom of the year?
That's the thing. I haven't been very active in fandom this year because I've been putting my creative energy into working on my novelthat I've been working on. So I guess my main fandom has been my own fucked-up head.
Your favorite film watched this year?
Oh man, what DID come out this year? I didn't go to the theater much. I liked Toy Story 3.
Your favorite book read this year?
That's a hard one, as I have read voraciously this year. I've been trying to re-immerse myself in prose. I loved Pattern Recognition by William Gibson, and I am currently digging The Wind-Up Girl by Paolo Bacigalupi. I loved the entire Sprawl Trilogy. And, if manga counts as a book, Mitsukazu Mihara is an absolutely sublime short-story writer.
Your favorite album or song to listen to this year?
I can't get "Bad Romance" out of my head. I'm not complaining.
Your favorite TV show of the year?
Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and Sherlock
Your favorite LJ community of the year?
Phoenix Wright Kink Meme (oh, wait, that's old news. Er.)
Your best new fandom discovery of the year?
Uh.
Your biggest fandom disappointment of the year?
That Dr. House/Black Jack commercial kind of sucked. It was just a mash-up. I was hoping for a Roger Rabbit-type cel overlay.
Your TV boyfriend of the year?
Uh, I have a really big crush on Odo. Bashir is also very cutewhich makes sense because I think I'm Garak
Your TV girlfriend of the year?
Dax :3 And pretty much all of the girls from DOLL
Your biggest squee moment of the year?
Robert Downey, Jr. gave
skuldchan a shout-out. Also, I saw the Kira/Odo kiss clip and quite litterally *squealed*. Oh, and the Black Jack/Dr House dual promo. OH AND UTENA REMASTER IS COMING OUT HOLY FUCK YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
The most missed of your old fandoms?
Utena; I miss being deeply involved in that one.
The fandom you haven't tried yet, but want to?
Er.
Your biggest fan anticipations for the New Year?
Don't know where to begin.
