trenchkamen: (Look what I did)

There are a bunch of doctors with an IQ below 70?

Nominate this for the Nobel, right now.

It's an age old question somebody has finally quantified.

My dad is an orthopedic surgeon, and my dermatologist mother has been making all the standard "orthopedic surgeons are dumb" comments my whole life, so I get the joke.

Once upon a time, I wanted to be an orthopedic surgeon :|a

Then I realized I can't do anything good with a knife.

You'd also be using a bonesaw and a hammer.

I don't have a horse in the race between orthopedists and other medical specialists, so your headline is what surprised me! When they presented the mean intelligence score for each group, I at first figured they must have re-standardized it, since obviously you don't make it through med school without being smart or at least good at faking it, but nope; those are unmodified IQ scores.

I never thought I was an IQ elitist until now, but finding out there are doctors (a lot of them) with an IQ that is literally half my IQ makes me feel uneasy. :-/

Eh, it's a quick test they took on an iPad. I don't find it reliable. What is relevant is the scores relative to one another.
