The Canadians finally sent my CD. Took them goddamn long enough.
Trust me; I know the 80's Bond soundtracks aren't masterpieces, but they're good for nostalgia value, and I like pulp music every now and then. Probably more often than is healthy.
Had a rather insufferable, insecure dick of a substitute in physics today. In retrospect, it's probably good that he didn't hear any comments I made under my breath, because he's the kind of sub who would have written me up for High Counts of Disrespect and Snark, and exaggerated on the report. Yeah, it's passive-aggressive of me, but I'd like to keep myself out of trouble my last semester, especially since I haven't sent Stanford that grade update yet, and I would have accomplished nothing anyway.
Example: the movie the teacher had left for us to watch was over, and people around the classroom were chatting more than doing "other work", and I was trying to nap for ten minutes, as I have a fluish-cold and was feeling none too chipper.
Sub: Hey, Sleeping Beauty.
(I open my eyes and stare at him.)
Sub: Why don't you pick up that trash behind your desk?
Me: ...sure. (under my breath) Prince Charming.
(There is Saran wrap behind my desk that isn't mine, but I pick it up anyway. The trash can is right by him.)
Sub: So, do you need to walk around the classroom or something to stay awake?
Me: ...I think I'm good.
(Note: I don't see how walking circles around the classroom is any more productive than sleeping.)
Sub: Right. This isn't sleep time. Now, get out something else to do.
(I didn't. I tried to doze sitting up.)
I could have said so much more, especially when he got on
zychi's and Fillman's cases for having their Nintendo DS's out after the movie. Pretty sure this isn't kindergarten anymore, so get over it. We've done our work for the day, and I don't see why sleeping or playing Mario Kart is arbitrarily any more appropriate for a school environment than chatting.
I'm hoping college will be less like elementary school.
And I slept for three hours after school today and it was delicious.

For what it's worth, yes, you can get away with a hell of a lot more in college than high school. You have to be more self sufficient and responsible, though, but you already seem to have that down. Skip class if you wanna, just make sure you don't blow the limit or miss something important; and if you want to spend all class doodling or goofing off? Hey, 'slong as the teacher can't see you (the beauty of lecture halls) it's all good. If you know the material, you'll be fine. Yeah, something tells me you'll like college.
*glad you got that extra sleep* <3
