So, this meme is from [livejournal.com profile] ryutsuki and [livejournal.com profile] meyrevived, and upon reading it, I remembered that oh yeah I do that writing thing too, don't I?

Pick a fanfic of mine, any fanfic, and I will tell you possibly interesting or possibly interesting only to me things about what the hell I was thinking when I wrote it.

AND

Comment here with the weirdest pairing you can think of (from any fandom you know I'm familiar with). I will then write a drabble of it for you.

And the Skintreatment.com website project is so close to being done I can taste it. I've spent the past two days tightening up the final screws before the domain move on Monday. Then I finally get paid!

Senior Stadium Painting was this morning at some gadawful hour, pictures of which I acquired because lately I've been OCD with my camera insofar as chronicling everything is concerned. After picking Mom up from her meeting and we had stopped by Michael's at Pavilions, we made a 'product research' pilgrimage to Bath and Body Works, where they freaking finally have a sakura-flavored candle to match their sakura products. God damn it smells good.

And, oh, yeah, I saw Red Eye again with Christianne and her mommy. Getting picked up from my house is weird. It has not happened since last October when that stoned-out asshole the non-descript white Subaru ass-rammed my car and Annie had to give me rides and stuff.

Gad, I had a feeling that one would come up. I started writing it the end of my sophomore year, and I've just entered my senior year, so quite a few things have gone through my mind since I started writing it. It's undergone countless mental revisions, and I have half a notebook on notes I've written down for it. I'm also completely redoing the beginning to make it more cohesive and better altogether. In short, it's difficult to pin down any one thing, or collection of things, going through my mind. Whatever was going on in my life, either affecting me personally or the people around me, was a direct inspiration on whichever parts of the story I was writing at that time. That's pretty forking obvious to an almost-disturbing level if you know me in the real world. Originally I was drawing my perception of the Dragons of Earth from the poem "The Hollow Men" by T.S. Eliot, which shaped quite a bit of the philosophy in the first handful of chapters. After my sophomore year, which was British literature-year, I started using more lyrics from contemporary songs than British Age-of-Reason poetry. And I would say the one theme that has remained the most constant throughout all of the revisions, though it may not seem that way at this point in the story, is this: it gets the darkest before dawn, and if you are willing to keep on living and trying your best, no matter what happens, dawn will come. At its core, it is a story about hope and friendship, aside from being a psychological-philosophy-satire.

And I will, I promise. I spent two months finishing my yaoi-con writing entry, which I cannot release online until the judging ends on October 1 (it's Subaru/Seishirou, in which, for the first time, I write them talking face-to-face in the X era). But I'm determined to finish APC. I want to re-write the beginning before (hopefully) my website link gets released on the yaoi-con website after judging, so chapter 19 may be put on hold for complete re-writes of the first chapters until October.

Blah that was rambling.

...evil. Fine. I'll bite.

Maybe she brought out the best in Christine. Maybe she was the force that harbingered his Angel's best singing. In a sense, she could be considered the source of his Angel's recent fevered dedication to her work. After rehearsals Christine would return to her dressing room with her chin held high, fully aware that she was the better singer, always so confident once she was alone in the room. Christine's backbone disappeared once she left the confines of the dressing room, but something about Carlotta sparked a previously-unseen dedication, an additional, nearly-latent edge to Christine's concentration.

As it were, anybody Christine hated, Erik hated by that virtue; this added to Erik's strong, antagonistic regard of Carlotta elevated her beyond levels of contempt to near-hatred. And hate is a force of attraction. Hate is just love with its back turned.

Erik had also found the store of spirits put aside for that evening's reception and had helped himself to a liberal number of shots; that made his perception of Carlotta uncomfortably... warmer. She did have a nice rack, in any case.

It is about friendship isn't it? hmm...actually I have nothing against the beginning and though it was a bit torn-up-and-repatched it made sense and the flow of the fic got things going the right way. But you're the author so obviously you see the fic's backstage and if something doesn't ift it doesn't fit. So I'll sit and wait. Good luck with the S/S fic!
