"Not there. THERE."

Hey, guys in the Phoenix area:
Cosplay Contest / Anime Fest Thing
Date: July 28th Friday
Time: 5pm - midnight
Location: Mesa Atomic
Yes, there is a monetary incentive to go, because cosplay gets awards. I'm jonesing for some cosplay after seeing all of the Expo pictures, though I'm sure you guys are all cosplayed out. And I'd feel like a huge twat wearing my Dead!Seishirou costume again, even if I don't enter the contest, because I won something with it last time.
Any interest at all?
I love how at Berkeley one can't take music performance classes for self-improvement (in other words, not as a part of a school ensemble I sure as fuck won't get into) unless one is a music major. This means I'll actually have to work up the drive to practice on my own. And they say to sign up for a variety of major pre-requisites, even though the three potential majors I picked have overlapping prerecs.
I'm already taking Japanese 101 as one side-class, but I can't decide on a second. It's freaking Berkeley, so I can take some classes on the representation of lesbian Chicanos in 1920's film, or something like that. Upon re-thinking some scenes of House of Flying Daggers I wonder if there's a Modern Asian Film class, or other such bullshit-fun. I'm sure all of the students would either be martial arts fanatics or otaku.
No energy the past 72 hours. This is an ideal time to do all the stuff I wanted to do when I was swamped, but I'm just falling asleep a lot. Isn't that always the case.
Watched a lot of Harvey Birdman with my sister last night. She enjoyed it, especially the one where Shaggy and Scooby get busted for driving high. Then she insisted on watching three-some-odd hours of crap television like The Simple Life and Will and Grace, blatantly skipping over [adult swim]. I would have left long before had Mom not been in there and insisted on "family time".

Date: 2006-07-06 10:51 pm (UTC)I wont have any new cosplays done by then [I don't think], so I would probably just re-wear Sub-Zero 4KICKS. I hear that costume was popular. >:
