My dad says that when he was in Britain in the 70's, people "in the know" pronounced his surname "BOW (like what Japanese people do whey they meet each other) - ie". Maybe you can clear this argument up. How do the British "in the know" pronounce his name?

Because every single person but my dad thinks that's wrong.
