David Bowie has the voice of God. Yes, even back when he sang like a nasal freak during the "Space Oddity" era, but especially when he uses his deeper range. As a more pedestrian example, listen to the man belt during his theatrical foray in Labyrinth. It's powerful.

It's too bad that "Space Oddity" makes me remember the reason I'm never getting on stage with a musical instrument again, because I do so love that song, and the cover of the album by that same name is raw sex. It makes me regret not practicing guitar at all last year. If I had knuckled down a little lot more, I'd be decent by now. Probably.

This completely pointless announcement interrupts a rather tedious stint of work (yes, something productive) I've been performing the past handful of hours. It involves menial code edits across multiple webpages and cutting-and-sizing images.

I really should go to sleep. I need to right my sleep schedule for school (I have a 7-fucking-AM class), and I felt as though I was going to die when I was awakened at 10 AM this morning. But I'm so wired-awake.

Tonight was a blast. keichisfuuma, xcerebraledemax, and white_manjushri accompanied me to the Urban Cafe for peach-apricot hookah (a fine selection, if I say so myself) and Greek appetizers. Many a good word and laugh were exchanged.

Oh, and kids and parents: don't be fooled by the "Start Smart" banners you see all over the place in Scottsdale. Learning does not begin on day one. Hell, you'll be lucky to learn anything by the second week of school in most classes. Don't be fooled by their propaganda! Go get wasted or something instead.

I need to make a poster for that message, or something, because every time I see one of those damn banners, or saw one of those damn t-shirts or posters back at school, I snorted. Therefore it needs be mocked. Even though I'm not even a part of that school district anymore. AND DON'T IT SOUND SWEET TO SAY THAT.

My dad says that when he was in Britain in the 70's, people "in the know" pronounced his surname "BOW (like what Japanese people do whey they meet each other) - ie". Maybe you can clear this argument up. How do the British "in the know" pronounce his name?

Because every single person but my dad thinks that's wrong.

Bowie himself pronounces it to rhyme with bow as in a ribbon you wear in your hair, but it's true that everyone in England pronounces it the other way - except my dad, who knows better and is how I myself know that? :3
