1.) Why do you dislike #11 so much?

Admittedly some of my prejudice comes from the fact that whenever Phoenix is paired with Kristoph, he’s become this broken, pathetic shadow of his former self who either allows Kristoph to use him, or is blindsided by Kristoph’s faux-kindness. I know each of us is fallible and each of us goes through low periods, but this just takes it too damn far, and it breaks my heart. Besides, Phoenix/Edgeworth is my OTP in that fandom, and in my head-canon Phoenix and Edgeworth are inseparable after GS3. Not every relationship based in hatred, manipulation, and pain has a romantic edge. It works with very few—Subaru/Seishirou being almost the genre archetype—but fandom has this odd idea that every hateful relationship is disguising true love.

2.) Who is someone you know that ships #13?

I can’t think of anybody specific.

3.) What would be your ideal scenario for couple #3

God, this pairing is just so damn TRAGIC, it’s hard to think of an ideal setting for them that isn’t pre-Dahlia or post-Godot’s death. I imagine Godot finally dies of internal damage from the poisoning, and finds Mia in the afterlife. In the GS world, the ego lives on after death, so they would still be ‘themselves’ at that point. This way, regardless of whether or not they confessed their feelings before Diego was poisoned, they would finally be together, and they would both find the happiness they deserve.

4.) Which is your favorite episode for #1? Try to pick just one.

Turnabout Goodbyes, definitely.

5.) How long have you been following couple #6?

Ever since I got into NANA back in 2006. It’s one of the few ‘main’ couples I actually LIKE, that doesn’t feel contrived in some way, or in which one-or-the-other person feels like a stereotype of his or her sex. I absolutely ADORE Oosaki Nana, and she and Ren have this chemistry and this love that is insanely strong and addictive. The force of their love is so *powerful*, especially given how realistic, broken, and sometime flat the other relationships in the manga are. Hell, they hadn’t even spoken in two years, and they were still in love with each other. That seldom happens IRL. The realism inherent in the rest of the manga enhances its effect. They NEED each other, and they both deserve happiness.

6.) What's the story with #8? What made you stop liking them/caring?

I liked them a lot when I was ten. As I got older both characters got really boring to me. The peripheral characters in Pokemon are by far the most fascinating.

7.) Which ship do you prefer - #2 or #4?

Damn, that’s hard, as much rabid fangirling as I’ve done for Tokyo Babylon over the years. Alucard/Integra is the ship *I* would want to be in, if I had to choose, because frankly Subaru is cripplingly depressed and Seishirou is a total heartless bastard. Subaru/Seishirou is almost in a category of its own.

8.) You have the power to make one ship non existent. Choose from #10 or #12.

10; as much as I hate 12, it’s integral to the NANA storyline. Hachi has to learn from her mistakes the hard way, and she keeps on making the same mistakes--that's what makes her so realistic.

9.) What interests you about #14?

I’m a sucker for a relationship based on witty banter. And if you can’t feel the chemistry between House and Wilson, whether platonic or otherwise, you have no pulse.

10.) When did you stop liking #7?

I never really stopped LIKING it, but it faded to the foreground the more contextual evidence I found to pair either character with different men romantically. I still love their BROmance.

11.) Did your waning interest in #9 kill your interest in the show?

Not in the least. It’s still my all-time favorite anime. I just realized after the age of about 12 that Shiori is a total, poisonous bitch, and Juri’s true love won’t change that. I adore Juri. She deserves so much better.

12.) What's a song that reminds you of #5?

“The Promise” by When in Rome. Read the lyrics.

13.) Which of these ships do you love the most?

Right now I’m obsessed with Phoenix/Edgeworth.

14.) Which do you dislike the most?

Phoenix/Kristoph. I can’t STAND that pairing; see above.

15.) If you could have any of these two pairings double date, who would it be? (even better if they're from different shows)

Phoenix/Edgeworth and Team Rocket. You know it has potential to be lulz.

18.) What would make you start shipping #13?

Moar subtext/context, and some sort of proof that Mustang and Hawkeye aren’t doing the no-pants dance, because I’m convinced they are. And that’s hot, so I don’t mind.

19.) If only one could happen, which would you prefer - #2 or #6?

…(wibbles) But… oh… Ren and Nana have the canon edge, so I’ll go with them. Besides, it breaks my heart to see them NOT TOGETHER.

20.) You have the power to decide the fate of #10. What happens to them?

I think they’re friends. Phoenix has moved on from Iris; he’s had to put all that behind him. They were together, and they knew each other, in a way, but Phoenix never really knew at the time what was going on. I know a name is nothing, but he spent five years thinking the sweet girl he dated and the monster who tried to kill him and DID kill her ex were the same woman. By the time he knows the truth, a LOT has changed. Phoenix is still Phoenix at his core, but he’s wrapped up in Edgeworth, and still dealing with the pangs of betrayal and lies. Sweet as Iris may be, she DID deceive him, and it’s damn near impossible to repair that trust. She’s a total pushover; he would never be able to trust that she could stand up for him or refuse her damn scary sister, even from beyond the grave.

Out of curiosity, what draws you towards Mia/Diego? Because while I see it in canon (obviously) and think it's actually very moving, I'm never really drawn to read or write about it. I guess I'm wondering what you'd say to push me over the edge into actively shipping it, heh.
