Well, it's not karma so much as the attitude of being able to dish out and take things. We do have a doctrine of trying to help the writing community as a hole.

Yeah. It's on paper that we exist to aid the community and wake up bad writers through unsparing snark, but there's a huge element of point-and-laugh.

a huge element of point and laugh?! I doubt anyone ever contacted the author of the fics they bitched at and made a less humorous, more educating note of the wrong things in the fic. one paper aside, I think some of the people there act only for thier own humor.
