Fuck you, Maricopa County.
Mar. 30th, 2008 12:13 amI got my first jury summons today. I can't believe I'm old enough for this shit.
The problem: I am "on call" for the entire month of May, and I have my finals that month (which, no, the professor will not let you make up come hell or high water), and I can't call the courthouse until Monday to request that I not be called the first two weeks. I also have less than twenty-four hours notice until I have to show up ("We'll call you Thursday after 4:00 PM to tell you if you have to show up Friday morning"), and I do run experiments on a timed schedule. I can't just up and abandon some of them when I have to take them off the boil the next day.
This would be so much easier if they would just give me a DAY and I could work from there. I would also be more willing to go if I could be interviewed by Attorney Wright and Prosecutor Edgeworth before the trial. Yes, that’s the first place my mind goes. Bite me.
