omegadonut saved my arse in that he found a necktie that works perfectly for Naoto's hatband, so I was able to just add the silver stripes, hence Heat & Bond. I am also painting a cheap pair of glasses frames blue. I may have to wait until LA to actually get a wig (fabula_umbrae, I'm looking at you). Aside from the embroidery fiasco I also wasted five hours of my life on a failed hatband this weekend, but that's been worked out. I'm saving embroidery / adding stitches to pants for St. Louis, because that's far more portable/does not require an iron.
Oh, yeah, I'm going to St. Louis this weekend. Withomegadonut. For a Pokemon tournament. I'm not competing (I'm firmly in the six Pikachu camp in that my team is my favorite Pokemon because they're my favorite and not because they're necessarily brilliant together, leave me alone it got me through the game), but I assume it will be interesting.
The trailer for not!Avatar The Last Airbender, current pariah of the race!fail world, is out. It had some kid in a monk's cowl doing martial arts. I wonder when Aang is going to show up. I can already tell this is going to be a disaster.
Took the cats to PetsMart for a bath this morning and washed my sheets, so hopefully the allergen level in this house dropped a quantum leap. Clean sheets are such a simple pleasure. Did a ridiculous amount of cell culture. I think I'm monopolizing 3/4 of the incubator right now.
