Build me a (Rainbow) Bridge

Two years on, and I'm still screaming, raging mad about the passage of Prop 8 (h8, as the hip kids call it) in California in 2008. (Yes, my rage face looks like all my other faces. I have the facial expression and tonal range of Stephen Hawking.) It's also the year Arizona passed the same amendment, but, even though I was pissed about that one too, we all saw it coming, and it did not act to remove rights that were already established.
Etc, etc. First time a constitution has been amended to take rights away, not give them, etc, all the same arguments from two years ago still stand because they're goddamn right. Also, Mormon Church.
Why yes I am watching a documentary on Netflix about Prop 8 and Mormon involvement therein; however did you guess? It's the video format of stuff I read two+ years ago, complete with awful reenactments and stupid music. Point still stands. And those couples getting married, being so elated they were crying and celebrating--that was real, not a reenactment. And so were the tears when the results of Prop 8 were announced.
I'll say it again because I feel like it: love is love is love. And it doesn't matter if you're born that way, choose to be that way, or whatever the hell in-between*, because it's an individual choice, between two (or more) consenting human** adults. Seriously, don't even start with the slippery-slope child-marriage and bestiality crap.
TL;DR haters gonna hate, but when their hate effects others, it stops being funny.

*For the record, I think human** sexuality is incredibly complex and probably attributed to multiple factors, genetics, hormones, psychology, sociology, etc, stuff we have no paradigm for conceptualizing at this juncture. TL;DR it's complex, chill out.
**Sometime in the future it will be consenting humanoid adults, or those creatures with cognitive complexity consummate to consent to a relationship. Not, for example, my cat. My cat has the cognitive maturity to consent to being fed and getting in my face when I'm working, not much else.
