Regarding requests I have gotten to post the Trigun essay: I will do it after the Stanford deadline on the 15th.
Yesterday evening the TAB party of ragtag misfits (destined to save the world!) went to the Tempe Art Festival--and beyond! I had my camera with me.
The party for this mission is:
Annie: (
xcerebraledemax) class thief; special abilities include those attributed to Good Schoolboys
Kaity: (
keichisfuuma) class monk; special abilities include "getting lost in rest-stop restrooms"
Whitney: (
jawzdharken) class ninja; special abilities include Keeping the Peace and being a good Group Mommy
Lauren: (I cast the spells that make the peoples fall down!) class mage; special abilities include operation of heavy machinery and running into doorstops

Our hero finds herself somewhere behindMill Avenue The Narrows, Gotham's seedy underground, in search of a gathering of artisans rumored to harbor her comrades at arms.

Once there and in front of NSAA(aaaaaaa)'s stage, she entrusts the camera to the custody of her minion Keiichi-fluffy-kins, who has far fewer reserves about getting into people's faces with a camera. Her first subject: Girl in a Box!

Mine darque schoolboy Annie with Eric and Alex, two people I haven't gotten to see in quite some time.

I forgot their names, but they're that cute couple what's in a band together and wears that stuff and dances around.

OMG IT'S WHITNEY.

Annie with Ely (I think that's how you spell his name), who entertained our party with tales of his Encounters with Men.

Some intra-party fraternization.

That's Jessica (
shirogane07) next to me in the pink. I don't realize how much like a black spot on the plane of existence I look until I see pictures like this.

It looks more like I'm making a llama than throwing up the horns. No, I don't know what's wrong with Annie.

Another 'happy holidays' picture, of sorts.

Whitney does a ninja-dance...

...and then she realizes she's nailed.

Annie looks up adoringly at her knight in shining armor. Insofar as Eric can be that.

He *does* look quite fetching in that hat.
There's a gap between Here and There in which we decide that we are going to First Fridays in downtown Phoenix, with the knowledge that while Annie and Kaity don't know where exactly in downtown Phoenix that is, they will be able to spot it when they see it. After driving down 7th Street all the way out of the city, we conclude that we can't find it, and that the artist they wanted to see wasn't there anyway.
So.
We're all the way downtown for no reason, and we happened to pass an interesting-looking warehouse on the outskirts I wanted a picture of, so we stopped in that parking lot. Since we were already there, and we were all 18 or older, we had to stop inside...

The bottom sign says "Satisfying America's passion for Forbidden Fruit". I wanted to return at a later date with a party in lab coats and say "Ye~eah" a lot and make noises like that guy from Office Space what says "Ye~ah" a lot, but we decided to just go in then. The guy working the counter stared at us quite a bit. I guess it's difficult not to when a gaggle of Barely Legal girls comes in, two of whom are obviously dating and talking about the outfits.
We decided to ditch downtown Phoenix, which can be seedy on a Friday night, for Whitt-o's hood around Arizona Mills, and went to Village Inn since I'd had the mad munchies the entire evening. I usually do not eat much. I think I had the pregnancy last night.
No, I don't know who the father was, but he must have really sucked because I completely missed it. Or Kaity's right and Tree-san planted seeds in my belly.

At the Village Inn, where we chased away the people sitting behind us. That was awesome. I love the waitress (Lucy, methinks her name was) we got; she gave us high-fives for having done that and told us that if those people wanted quiet, they should go to the morgue.

That's my natural eye color.

That's the pie we were going to murder Whitney for. I should have Folken-clawed her for it.
On the drive home Annie and Kaity and I totally busted out to my Fushigi Yuugi Seiryuu CD, which is a trip down memory lane back to junior high (6th grade for me, 8th for them), and I have since found all the old FY songs on my hard drive. My Chichiri fandom never fully died, though my fandom for that show definately did.
