My mother doesn't want me to become a serial killer.

She noticed Friday evening that I was reading Hannibal and rather enjoying it, and of course, yesterday I had to go out and rent the movie. There was a special on E! about serial killers that I stopped on while I was searching the kitchen TV for anything interesting. I was eating my lunch during the brains-dinner portion of the Hannibal movie and not missing a beat.

She keeps telling me that she's very concerned about me and keeps asking me to please not become a serial killer.

I guess it's good that she doesn't know I cosplay three characters with serial killer profiles.

It's time to print out those recommendation forms for college, finally. I need to narrow them down so I'm not slamming twenty recommendation forms down on each teacher's desk.

This amuses me somehow. Especially about the cosplay part. ♥

See, that's why I'm having trouble getting the comic of one of those two of your characters. and I don't recognize your current music for once. (lime wire-ing)

Right. A helmet's going to keep you really safe.

And, no, I do not crave brains; I prefer the liver and kidneys.

...Well. Actually. I dunno if brains are really my forte or not.

But since it's so convenient... how can I refuse? X3

Do read From Hell by Alan Moore and Eddie Campbell, it's awfully good and the appendices at the back have all kinds of interesting stuff about the history of serial murder.
You tell your mother that female serial killers are extremely rare.
So if you do do it, at least you'll be being fairly original.

Yeah. I'll be fighting the power and stuff. Anarchy forever.

I'll keep that one in mind. I've got such a list of books to read.

I'm a bit of a From Hell fangirl - and oddly, that has almost nothing to do with the presence of Johnny Depp in the movie.

XD My mother once told me very seriously that she was afraid I would someday murder her and my father in cold blood. Sheesh, parents.

Yeah, parents. In all fairness, did you do anything to precipitate that concern?

It's definately a step in the serial killer direction.

I outwardly have sociopathic tendencies, but when it gets right down to it, I'm incredibly nice and gentle. Or so I've been told.

It's interesting to get into the minds of serial killers, although it's not a place you'd like to examine too long, but still interesting nonetheless.

I'd have to say out of the movies I prefer Silence of the Lambs over Hannibal. I am, however, greatly amused by Gary oldman's character. I have not read the books, sadly, one of these days when I get through the long list of books I want to read I shall. What is your preference?

Mason Verger (Gary Oldman's character) was even more screwy in the books. On that note, the book ending is very different from the movie ending; it got quite a bit of flack from the fandom. I was just happy to see Lecter you-know-what Clarice at the end of the movie.

Honestly, I don't know which movie I prefer. Silence has more of a subdued, quiet brilliance I love, but Hannibal was more grandiose, and that you-know-what finally happened. I'd have to say overall I prefer Silence.
