I can't breathe. This must be because I forgot to take my allergy meds last night. I therefore can't sleep.

I'm positive episode 3.17 of Avatar was a stab at fanfiction. I will be disappointed if it wasn't. I know the creators dislike Zutara, probably mostly because Aang is a Mary Sue of the creator and he wants to bone Katara.

I finally finished Mom's belated Mother's Day/birthday present. That's pretty much what I did yesterday. And watch Avatar. Given that I just finished finals, I still have to finish that RNA project for my boss, and that I am leaving for Fanime Wednesday at the latest (fabula_umbrae, hi), I will not have any of my new planned costumes done by the con. This includes Ravenclaw student, bishie-anthro Prince of All Cosmos, and Shirogane Naoto. Hell, I haven't even gotten a new wig for Edgeworth, which I therefore have not even styled. I may have to bum somebody's skills in California for that. I guess I have everything I need for Hobo!Phoenix if I buy a gray hoodie and make a locket. Maybe. We'll see. At least I now have a hat that isn't shaped like a goddamn condom.

The family did a Goodwill run yesterday. I got rid of years' worth of Scientific American (this wasn't easy) among other junk. I ended up rescuing several of my sister's plush sea animals, because I couldn't possibly get any gayer. I have a bed full of fluff and cute. Anybody I fuck on this bed is going to feel like a pedophile. And I do think abolishing tax deductions for charitable donations is bullshit; you're giving people money to help others the government would otherwise be spending. It makes no sense. And it's not only the wealthy who benefit from the deductions (though that really shouldn't matter, as they pay most of the taxes anyway); middle-class families make donations too.

And I finally got bands on my PCR. Now I need to send the product out for sequencing. Please please PLEASE be something I need some signs of progress to show grad schools when I apply like next semester fuck my life.

Ah, Avatar. That brings back memories. Mostly memories of ship wars.

I don't ship Zutara, but I can't think of Kataang without thinking LOL STRAIGHT SHOTA. :(

That being said, I shipped the fuck out of Toph/Zuko. Granted, I aged Toph up a good number of years... ALL THE CHARACTERS WERE UNDERAGE WHAT THE FUCK WAS WRONG WITH US

I remember being that age and shipping, having sexual feelings, etc. I think as we get older we distance ourselves from relating to young adolescents because of this huge taboo of pedophilia. It often comes at the expense of understanding. And yes, Aang is so adorably shota. I ship Toph/Sokka; I think they would work well together. I love Toph.

Yeah, you're right about the whole "understanding" thing. Still, it was a touch creepy seeing fans over the age of twenty argue over which underage character is boning who. Creepy... and also very funny in a "pass the popcorn" sort of way.

And yes, I'm a natural blond, although my hair has darkened with age.
